This event will trigger a new process token instance at a set time interval as defined in the timer definitions. You can use this event to start a given process every month on the first day for example. The process can be prevented from continuing to create new token process instances by deactivating it in the management > processes menu.
This event will force the process token instance to wait (at the event) until the timer has elapsed.
When set as the boundary of an activity, this event will provide an alternative path on the BPMN diagram, if the activity has been completed before timer has elapsed, nothing will happen, if not, the activity will be canceled and the process token instance will progress along the new path.
